our mission
At NEICSC, we desire that your camper will come to KNOW that God loves them and to GROW in their relationship with Him.

Our story
In September of 1962, the Waterloo Church of Christ (now River’s Edge Christian Church) invited men of the area Church of Christ / Christian Churches to a spaghetti dinner and a program. This was the beginning of the Area Men’s Fellowship. At this first meeting, it was decided to have a project for the Men’s Fellowship. At the next meeting, the camp was chosen as the Men’s Fellowship project.
Several properties were investigated, but God opened the door for the Bristow property. Between October 1962 and February 1963, eight churches committed to helping the camp incorporate. The trustee board forged ahead with plans to hold the first camp on the grounds in 1963 but, due to problems drilling a well, the camp had to be postponed for one more year. The first camp was held on June 22, 1964. Since then, many buildings were added and upgrades and improvements were made.
God has provided so many blessings for the camp and blessed the efforts of those with the vision to reach the lost. The Executive Board and Board of Trustees are committed to the future of the camp and any changes that will make the camp relevant and true to God’s Word. May the story continue for years to come! Thank you, everyone – past, present, and future – for your love and service to NEICSC.

meet the director

Greetings to the churches of our Lord Jesus Christ,
My name is Warren Curry. I am the new Administrative Director at Northeast Iowa Christian Service Camp.
I have been serving as the pastor at the Clarion Church of Christ in Clarion, IA for the past 17 years. I have also served as a dean at Northeast Iowa Christian Service Camp for the past 16 seasons. I love camp!!! I love this camp!!! I also love watching what God does in the lives of people while at camp.
I was born, raised, and graduated in Cedar Falls, IA. I started attending the Waterloo Church of Christ (now River’s Edge) back in 1985. I then came to Northeast Iowa Christian Service Camp for the first time in June of 1986. While here, I was moved by the gospel message that the speaker presented. On June 19, 1986, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord and was baptized that evening along with a handful of other campers in the old chapel baptistry. My faith in Jesus Christ was born here at this camp, strengthened and developed in my youth group at Waterloo during the year, and reinforced at camp again, year after year, until I graduated in 1991.
I then attended Minnesota Bible College in Rochester, MN. It was while there that I met my beautiful wife, Kara. We have been married a little over 27 years at the writing of this letter. We have three sons, 26, 22, 17, who have all attended the camp here. We have also been blessed to serve with a variety of churches in Georgia, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. In that time, I had the privilege to serve as a dean or faculty member at several different Bible camps. However, none of those camps have a place in my heart as does Northeast Iowa Christian Service Camp. Kara and I are excited to get moved over and started. However, our youngest son is a senior this year and we desire to see him graduate out of Clarion. So, I will be going back and forth to the camp between now and Spring. I will increase the number of days I am at the camp after February and the weather starts getting better (although we live in Iowa, so there’s that). Our son graduates on May 17. So, our plan is to move over to the camp full-time that following week. I ask that you please be in prayer for my family, the camp, and the Clarion church as we navigate this transition together.
I am looking forward to meeting many of you and catching up with others as we have crossed paths before. I look forward to sharing ideas and goals with you in person as I look forward to meeting with your youth groups and missions’ teams. I truly believe God has some great things in store for the future of His camp. I look forward to serving with you all as we move forward together, in advancing the gospel for the glory of
God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
